Our exclusive ‘Meet The Babysitter’ service gives parents and babysitters the chance to get a feel for each other in person, before any babysitter session takes place. There's no better way to find a large selection of families who are right for you.

Here’s How It Works For Sitters

* Submit an application online here

* If your application is successful, undergo a behavioural assessment

* Provide us with copies of your ID, police check, certificates & a photo

* If you meet our strict criteria you will be selected to join our team

* When your details match the requirements of a local family you're sent an expression of interest application

* If the family sounds right for you - you attend an interview with the family

* If the family 'connects' with you then start scheduling your time with parents and their precious little people

About you

Our standards are high and we love to boast about the great people we have at Babysitters R Us. In order to become part of our team we have a few expectations of our applicants.

You must;

·         Be responsible, reliable, honest and passionate about working with children

·         Have a warm, fun and friendly personality

·         Have a Working With Children check (Victoria) or Blue Card (Queensland)

·         Have a current Police Check

·         Several years experience with children of varying ages

·         Contactable & relevant references

·         Have a genuine desire to work as a babysitter & be dedicated to what you do

We also find it highly desirable if you have;

·         First aid experience

·         Own transport or access to reliable transport

·         Driver’s License

·         At least 6 spare hours per week, that you can devote to babysitting

 

Why 'Meet The Babysitter' works for you

You get to choose your own hours, which families you work for and how much you earn. Babysitting roles offer sitters loads of flexibility and are the perfect solution for students and those already working part time. You simply let parents know what your availability is and your expected hourly rates – it’s all up to you. You can attend as many or as few interviews as you like, and stay with us for as long as you need more work. Best of all you get paid to hang out with children and have fun.

What happens when you apply

Once we receive your application, if you meet our selection criteria we will contact you to arrange a behavioural assessment. You are then required to fax or email us copies of your ID, certificates, documentation and a photo. We then conduct our final checks and if successful you will then be registered with Babysitters R Us and will be matched to parents looking for care in your area.

What happens once you are registered

If you are a match for a local family, you will receive an expression of interest application. If interested, you must submit the application quickly so we can fill the interview spaces as soon as possible.

Once we have the right sitters for a family, interviews are scheduled and you will be required to attend. We call these 'Sitterviews' and at the 'sitterview' you should be prepared to answer lots of questions about your experience and interests, and why you like to work with children. It is also a good idea to be prepared to discuss availability and your expected hourly rate.

Parents are only given your name and are not provided with any of your contact details - it is a requirement of your registration with the agency that you do not pass on any of your contact details to the family conducting the 'Sitterview'.

What happens after the 'Sitterview'

After the 'Sitterview' the family will let us know who they felt the best connection with and which sitter/s they would like to care for their children. We then provide the family with your contact details and when the family needs a babysitter they will then call you directly to arrange times and details.
